About This Trip

This is one of Alaska Bearfoot Tours signature trip. Spend an unforgettable day in remote Katmai National Park and Preserve, far away from crowds, developed trails, and viewing platforms. Enjoy a scenic flight into the true Alaskan bush, provided by Skydance Aviation. You and the other members of your small group are led on a day hike by a naturalist guide who acquaints you with Alaskan Coastal Brown Bears and the amazing country that is their home. Depending on the time of summer, locations vary according to the bears’ food sources.

$1395 per seat, (Max 8 persons in two aircraft, based on weight)

The Quick Details​​

  • Small group (8 guests maximum)
  • Walk between 3-5 miles throughout the day
  • Scenic flight from Homer to Katmai takes approximately 1 hour
  • Spend an average of 4 hours on the ground hiking and sitting to watch the bears

What to Bring and Wear

  • Footwear – Rubber or waterproof boots. If you do not have any boots, BearFoot Tours will provide you with a pair.
  • Camera
  • Binoculars – If you do not have any you may share some with the bear guide
  • Layered Clothing – Always be ready for any temperature range, bring a rain shell in case of rain
